Just last weekend Movistar Yamaha MotoGP riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo was in race in Austria GP and the teammates immediately headed to the Automotodrom Brno with the aim to further their championship challenge during this weekend‘s back-to-back race in the Czech Republic.
Abarth will be cheering passionately, in its role as support sponsor of the current World Champion Team, with Valentino Rossi as the outstanding protagonist. Rossi has won in Brno Automotodrome five times, and has also has fond memories of previous events at the Brno track. He followed it up with a 250cc victory in 1999, a 500cc first place in 2001 and modern era premier class Brno win in 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2009. Jorge Lorenzo won the 2015 Czech Republic GP.
The partnership between Abarth is founded on the shared values of sportsmanship and the desire to excel: it is no accident that this year also features the Scorpion logo on the front fairing of the two YZR-M1 2016-as a synonym for racing and the symbol for a wealth of victories and passions.
A passion that Abarth shows with its recently renovated range, including the new Abarth 124 spider, designed to satisfy even the most demanding pilot. The new Scorpion model is fitted with rear-wheel drive, sophisticated suspension and a four-cylinder 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine with 170 HP, paired with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic Sequenziale Sportivo Essesse gearbox with steering-wheel paddle shifters.
The new 595 Abarth representing the evolution of the Scorpion brand icon: available in the saloon or convertible version, the new 595 Abarth range comes in three trim levels (595, 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione) and just as many engine power levels, to satisfy today's increasingly demanding and competent customers. Many of the upgrades introduced are the result of the experience gained with the development of the "smallest supercar": the 695 Biposto, a road car that offers all the thrills and technology of a real racing car.
Passionate support for the Movistar Yamaha Moto GP Team also comes from members of "The Scorpionship", the brand's sole official community, devoted to Abarth owners, collectors, members of Abarth Clubs and simple fans.
