Abarth are rooting for Valentino Rossi and the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team, who this weekend are racing at the Motegi circuit in Japan during Round 15 of the MotoGP World Championship. After the first 14 races, Valentino Rossi and teammate Jorge Lorenzo respectively occupy second and third place in the standings. With four races still to go, both men will try to stake their claim for top spot in the riders' championship, on a circuit where Italian Rossi, nicknamed "The Doctor", triumphed in the premier class on two occasions, in 2001 and 2008, and finished second in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 2006, 2009 and 2015.

Among the supporters of the Italian rider is Abarth, official sponsor of the Movistar Yamaha Moto GP team, whose other rider at the Motegi circuit will be Jorge Lorenzo, winner of the Japanese GP in 2009, 2013 and 2014.

There are many Japanese fans of the Scorpion brand, which has expanded its range with the new Abarth 124 Spider, a car designed to satisfy the tastes of even the most demanding drivers. The new model with the scorpion badge has rear-wheel drive, sophisticated suspension and a four-cylinder 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine delivering 170 HP, paired with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic Essesse sports sequential gearbox with shift paddles. The car combines the pleasure of sporty driving with the feeling of freedom that only a convertible can offer.
