FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth: the winners at Hockenheim were Joshua Dürksen (GER), Oliver Bearman (GBR) and Victor Bernier (FRA)

  • The Briton Jonny Edgar leads the championship rankings, ahead of the Finn Elias Seppänen and the American Jak Crawford
  • A great show at the “Motodrom” at the German circuit of Hockenheim with drivers from 12 different nations

Three different winners in the three races of the third event of the FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth, held on the difficult Hockenheim circuit, where 17 drivers were in competition, driving Abarth’s single-seated cars: in Race1, the German Joshua Dürksen (ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.); in Race2, the Briton Oliver Bearman (US Racing); and in Race3, the Frenchman Victor Bernier (R-ace GP).

In Race 1 the German Dürksen started in pole position and retained first place until the end, ahead of Jak Crawford from the USA, and the Briton Jonny Edgar, who took important championship points. Further down the field were the Finn Elias Seppänen and the Italian Francesco Pizzi. The other Italian driver, Gabriele Minì, had to withdraw from the race after he came into contact with Dürksen during an attempt to overtake him, and ran off the track.

The Italian driver, Minì, started Race2 in pole position in Race2, but – due to the safety car having to come onto the track several times – was unable to maintain the lead. Just as he was starting back up, Minì was caught by surprise by the German Tim Tramnitz and the Briton Bearman, who ended up competing for the victory, with Bearman coming in ahead of Tramnitz and Minì.

The last race was just as spectacular, with the competitiveness reaching the stars, an uncertain result right up to the end, and many touches between the big stars of the championship. The Frenchman Bernier emerged victorious from these ‘battles’, ahead of the American Jak Crawford, Finland’s Elias Seppänen and Italy’s Minì, in a race that ended behind the safety car.

After these results, the overall championship rankings of the see the Briton Jonny Edgar (Van Amersfoort Racing) in the lead with 136 points, compared to 124 points for the Finn Elias Seppänen (US Racing) and 102 points for the American Jak Crawford (Van Amersfoort Racing).

The next event for F4 single-seaters in the FIA ADAC F4 Championship powered by Abarth is scheduled for next weekend on the Nürburgring.
