Official Sponsor and Car for the fifth year in a row, Lancia is taking part in the 59th edition of "Taormina Film Fest", running from 15 to 22 June in the picturesque setting of Taormina's Ancient Theatre, part of the country's archaeological heritage. With more than 2300 years of history behind it, it is still a privileged stage for extremely important national and international cultural initiatives.

"Taormina Film Fest 2013" represents a great showcase of film premières from all over the world and has gained ever increasing importance within the world of film festivals, both in Italy and abroad. Over the years, the festival has also become a multi-faceted event which has unearthed a great deal of talent and opportunity for discussion and meeting between directors, actors, operators and aficionados.

For an exclusive "courtesy car" service reserved for ferrying film stars and personalities to Taormina and the festival's red carpet, Lancia is providing a fleet made up of Thema, Voyager, Flavia and Delta models. This represents the new automotive dynasty which encapsulates the best of two industrial cultures that now have a single identity, founded on the same will to excel in the future and on the values engraved in their respective century-old histories: design and innovation.

For the festival, the 'Taormina Arte Award Lancia' will be given and the Lancia Café will be set up, an exclusive meeting place present at all film events supported by the Brand as a location for meetings between talents, producers and the media and for one-to-one interviews with directors and actors. At Taormina too, the Lancia Café will be the most exclusive and welcoming location for the stars of the festival to get together, and perhaps simply enjoy a drink, in a refined and relaxed atmosphere.

What's more, in a dedicated display area, the public will be able to see the two latest additions to the Lancia Ypsilon 5-door range up close: the twin soul of the Fashion City Car, the Elefantino Special Series and the 'S MOMODESIGN'.

With the Elefantino Special Series, a more glamorous choice, but accessible at the same time, the new Lancia Ypsilon 5-door confirms its youthful vocation to defy convention, thanks to the fluorescent customisations, the Glossy Black details, the new Urban-Look interiors and the Elefantino logo on the car's tailgate.

The second, the S MOMODESIGN special series, is the ideal response for metropolitan customers seeking a car with a dynamic look characterised by distinctive elements. These include the new MOMODESIGN interiors, the two-tone paintwork distinguished by the Matt Black roof and the original 15" black alloy wheels.

By sponsoring "Taormina Film Fest 2013", Lancia consolidates its historic connection with the cinema, a natural sphere of communication for a brand which shares the same values of charm, emotion, culture and beauty, as well as embracing an audience of varying ages, professional backgrounds and tastes. This connection is very close, demonstrated by the direct appearance of some of Lancia's cars in famous films, including Big Deal on Madonna Street in 1958, The Easy Life in 1962, Deep Red in 1975 and Pour la peau d'un flic in 1981. Since 2006, the brand has also demonstrated it by supporting the main film festivals, events which are marked by class, style, importance and internationality.

That's not to mention the product placement of Lancia cars in famous films such as, for example, the Thema and Delta models in To Rome with Love (2012), written and directed by Woody Allen, and the Delta's part both in the cinematic thriller Angels & Demons (2009) by director Ron Howard and in original adverts with Richard Gere. Last, but not least, is "She was here" (2012), the short art film produced by Lancia, written and directed by Gabriele Muccino and starring Francesco Scianna and Helena Mattsson together with the new Lancia Thema and Flavia.
