Middle East - Jeep® Compass: Distinctive, contemporary, authentic Jeep design

  • The all-new compact SUV is immediately recognisable as a Jeep® thanks to its distinctive yet modern design cues that that draw inspiration from the brand's flagship
  • Interior includes sculptured surfaces, precise technical details and functionality
  • 'Easter Eggs' return on Jeep Compass - styling gems designers conceal in Jeep vehicles to surprise and delight the customers they are designing for

Before putting pencil to paper, Jeep® designers fully immerse themselves in the lifestyle surrounding Jeep vehicles to gain a strong understanding of those they are designing for and get a first-hand experience of Jeep capability and driving dynamics. They attend Jeep Jamborees and the Easter Jeep Safari, a yearly event in Moab, Utah, which is the ultimate off-roading environment.

Once they put pencil to paper, their designs build on recognisable cues that are unmistakably Jeep and visually communicate off-road capability, functionality and on-road dynamics.

The all-new Jeep Compass perfectly blends Jeep design cues with clear inspiration from the Grand Cherokee flagship, while incorporating fresh elements that are unique to this vehicle:

  • The 7-slot grille - the iconic 'face' of every Jeep, recognisable across the entire line-up - positions each chrome slot individually in gloss black, emphasising the width of the vehicle and perfectly integrating the signature headlamps;
  • The trapezoidal wheel arches and pronounced wheel flares provide a muscular, wide stance contributing to delivering, along with the short overhangs, unsurpassed Jeep off-road capability;
  • LED signature headlamp bezels, featuring a black outline, add a distinctive personality to the front of the vehicle while unique LED tail lamps, with a slim and rectangular shape, flow into the liftgate providing a commanding yet premium appearance;
  • Last but not least, the most distinctive design cue on the new Compass: the signature DLO, is an uninterrupted element that tracks completely around the vehicle. This is a unique design feature that distinguishes the vehicle from any other model of the Jeep family, and also introduces a completely new styling cue in its category.

Interior design

The interior of the Jeep Compass combines sophistication with a youthful, dynamic look, featuring high quality materials and precise technical details.

The trapezoidal centre stack - a characteristic Jeep design theme, inspired by the opening of the eagle's wings - sports a colour and finish that complements the interior choice. HVAC vents are surrounded by a chrome inlay bezel and provide a precise, refined and functional environment.

Clever and thoughtfully designed storage solutions are available, including a stylish mesh side pocket in the front passenger foot well and an inventive multi-level rear cargo floor that deliver a functional layout to the cabin.

The interior's colour palette is inspired by nature, paying tribute to the various lifestyles and environments customers will enjoy with this vehicle. There are three colour palettes in the all-new Jeep Compass, including two-tone Black/Sandstorm, Black/Ski Grey and monotone Urbex Black. The last two options are available in a cloth/leather, full leather and ventilated leather combination. Colours and materials reflect nature, as well as schemes that recall elements on the exterior, such as the wheels and exterior trim.

Jeep "Easter Eggs"

The Jeep Easter Eggs tradition - hidden design elements that Jeep stylists conceal in Jeep vehicles, and are meant to be discovered throughout time by their owners - continues with the all-new Jeep Compass.

Originally, Easter Eggs took the form of an additional graphic to an otherwise standard part of the vehicle, but over the course of the years they developed into a typical element of Jeep design.

Often, they are styling cues that recall the brand's design heritage - like the seven slot grille - or iconic Jeep models like the Wrangler - to underscore the original roots of Jeep's design philosophy. Other times they are inspired by nature or have an adventure theme.

Jeep Easter eggs add an element of surprise in the experience of a new vehicle, further extending the pleasure of discovery. They are testimony to the creative passion of Jeep designers and visually express the fun they have in the development of Jeep vehicles.
