Live music at Vertical Stage with the Alfa Romeo MiTo stops off at the European Parliament Building

As close to the world of music as ever, Alfa Romeo is launching a truly unique music event this month: on Friday 9 September, for the first time, the façade of the European Parliament in Brussels will become the “vertical” stage for some of the most famous international DJs. The Alfa Romeo MiTo is taking a leading role in and is official car of the third edition of Vertical Stage, the music project that has broken the boundaries of traditional live concerts, with artists giving “suspended” performances.

Live music at Vertical Stage with the Alfa Romeo MiTo stops off at the European Parliament Building

As close to the world of music as ever, Alfa Romeo is launching a truly unique music event this month: on Friday 9 September, for the first time, the façade of the European Parliament in Brussels will become the "vertical" stage for some of the most famous international DJs. The Alfa Romeo MiTo is taking a leading role in and is official car of the third edition of Vertical Stage, the music project that has broken the boundaries of traditional live concerts, with artists giving "suspended" performances.
Part of the Youth Convention on Volunteering, the biggest public event organised by the European Youth Forum from September 7 to 11 to celebrate the work of young volunteers, Vertical Stage will be electrifying the square in the heart of Europe with the live performances by Motel Connection, The Compact Disk Dummies and Hot Chip directly from the European Parliament's balcony of the Ancienne Gare.
The evening will start at 7:30 p.m. with The Compact Disk Dummies, the band of very young Belgian brothers (born in 1995 and 1997), who are already greatly appreciated by critics for their inborn artistic talent. They will be followed by Motel Connection from Turin, an established Italian electronic music project which came out of Subsonica, now set to be exported, as a tribute to the home city of the event. Then there will be a DJ set by special guests Hot Chip, supported by the band's multi-instrumentalist AL DOYLE, guitarist with LCD Soundsystem.
Vertical Stage, first staged at the Paratissima contemporary art event in Turin and then immediately repeated in Milan during International Design Week, was created by twenty-five year old Stefano Pesca from Turin with the objective of breathing new life into city spaces, which become protagonists and not merely settings for cultural events. The usual concept of a horizontal stage is subverted with Vertical Stage - hence the name - by exploiting the architecture of the buildings and their balconies. The uniqueness and prestige of the location for this edition will lend a particularly fascinating, singular effect to the event.
The choice to take part in the third edition of Vertical Stage is still further proof of Alfa Romeo's commitment to supporting events which express the highest levels of dynamism and energy. A journey that the brand set out on in 2008 and which demonstrates the values it shares with the world of music, accompanying DJ sets, concerts, bands, exhibitions and top-level sessions.
