Three New Abarth Models Debut at Bologna Motor Show

No fewer than three new Abarth models have debuted at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy this week. Based on the iconic Abarth 500, the newly-unveiled Abarth 595 is fitted with the Esseesse engine performance kit as standard and produces 160hp and 230Nm, resulting in a 100km/h time of just 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 211km/h.

Two different versions are offered; the Abarth 595 Turismo and the Abarth 595 Competizione. The Turismo model boasts two-tone paint, special graphics, new badges, 17-inch alloys wheels and the Competizione paddle-shift transmission as standard, while the Competizione is fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox, 17-inch titanium-coloured wheels, Brembo brakes, Grigio Record paint, leather and Alcantara Sabelt seats, metal-effect cabin trim and matte titanium mirror housings. Numerous options are available for both cars including uprated brakes, a Koni suspension kit and Tramontano bags in matching leather.

The new Abarth Punto Scorpione also debuts at the Bologna Motor Show. Built in collaboration with snowboard manufacturers Nitro, the limited edition Scorpione gets a special matte- and gloss-black paint finish, black leather Sabelt seats, a 180hp 1.4-litre turbo-charged MultiAir engine, a special exhaust system, uprated Koni dampers and high-performance brakes. The Abarth Punto Scorpione reaches a top speed of 216km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds, and only 99 examples will be built.

An "Abarth Nitro" winter kit is also available as an option, complete with 17-inch alloy wheels with winter tyres, a snowboard rack with magnetic fasteners and a high-performance "Nitro powered by Abarth" snowboard which even has a detachable camera.

Finally, more details of the Abarth 695 "Assetto Corse" have been announced. Performance from the 1.4-litre turbo-charged engine is boosted to 205hp and the street-legal racer is fitted with a unique body-kit, a high-downforce wing, 17-inch racing wheels, high-performance brakes and special exhaust system. Mechanical enhancements include a Sadev sequential gearbox, a welded-in, FIA-approved roll cage, Lexan side windows, a racing seat, a racing steering wheel and digital motorsport instruments.
