Middle East - The Legendary Power of the Scorpion is Unleashed in the Middle East

  • Performance, technology and iconic Italian style are the key factors behind the steady global expansion of the brand with the Scorpion badge.
  • The range available in the Middle East includes the Abarth 595 Competizione and the special series 695 Rivale that brings together two Italian brands with a shared excellence in technology, innovation, attention to every detail and outstanding performance.
  • Completing the range alongside the 595 Competizione and 695 Rivale is the new Abarth 124 Spider: an adrenaline-charged car developed with Squadra Corse Abarth that is exclusively available in soft-top roadster trim.

Transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary to offer the best products in the small sports car segment. This is the mission of Abarth - the brand with the Scorpion badge - which has always been the byword for performance and iconic Italian style.

It was in 1949 that Carlo Abarth, after a career racing motorcycles and cars, founded Abarth & C with Guido Scagliarini. The first vehicle produced was the 204 A Roadster, based on the Fiat 1100. It immediately won the 1100 Sport Championship as well as Formula 2. Alongside racing, the company started to produce tuning kits that improved performance, power and speed of standard vehicles.

Abarth vehicles were renowned for their high performance and power, but first and foremost for being small and agile just like the Scorpion. Carlo Abarth's performance modified cars achieved success in every competition and with him at the wheel, set many records. In the 1950s and throughout the 60s, the Abarth brand became synonymous with sport, tuning and performance, and changed the sports car world.

Now the power of the scorpion is now unleashed in the Middle East through the latest Abarth line-up, the very best expressions of the values of the brand, which are based on top performance, craftsmanship and continual technical upgrades. These three values guide the work of the Abarth designers, engineers and technicians who create the compact supercars with the Scorpion badge engaged every day on the road and on the racing track.

Today, the Abarth brand still maintains its unique DNA, and is renowned for performance, great driving pleasure and sporty appeal. The story of the Scorpion continues, facing new challenges, creating unique vehicles and giving great emotion to whoever has the honour of driving these vehicles.

The new 595 and 695 Abarth line-up available in the Middle East includes two body types (hatchback and convertible) and two trim levels (595 Competizione and 695 Rivale) - both are equipped with powerful 180hp 1.4 T-jet engines that develop torque of 250 Nm at 3000 rpm via their Garrett GT 1446 turbos. Many of the upgrades featured in these vehicles are the result of experience gained with the development of the 695 Biposto, the smallest supercar that offers the thrills and technology of a real racing car in a street-legal vehicle.

With a strong focus on premium performance, iconic Italian style and craftsmanship expressed in every product plus a constant programme of technological upgrades, the latest Abarth 595 is the natural heir of the car that was originally launched in 2008. As well as a powerful engine, this latest development of the iconic model with the scorpion badge features even richer standard equipment and plenty of product innovations.

The 595 Competizione is ideal for adrenaline junkies looking for racing performance and technical features: 0-100 acceleration in 6.9 seconds and oversized Brembo braking system with four-piston aluminium fixed calipers to bring it to a stop in total safety. And with a high-performance Record Monza exhaust with dual mode system, the standard 1.4 T-jet engine - paired with an Abarth robotized sequential gearbox with shift paddles - outputs a specific power of 132hp/L.

For more effective sporty driving, the car has a flat-bottomed steering wheel with viewfinder made of carbon fibre. And in addition to the standard leather seats that are available in red, tan or black, optional Corsa by Sabelt seats provide extraordinary lateral support and are perfect for sporty driving due to their ability to accurately transmit every minimum load shift to the driver.

The innovations continue with a brand-new sports instrument panel and new graphics that characterize the "sport" mode and improve readability. Abarth engineers also worked on the rear bumper creating a more pronounced and effective diffuser and the 595 Competizione features specific bumper inserts in tar cold grey finish.

The front and rear light clusters are also new and are equipped as standard with polyelliptical headlights, LED daytime running lights and Xenon headlights on the entire range. 17" Supersport wheels and a glossy red, white or black customization pack further personalize the look of the car.

Abarth and Riva, two Italian brands with a shared excellence in technology, innovation, attention to every detail and outstanding performance joined together to create the Abarth 695 Rivale, the most refined Abarth ever.

Riva, the world-famous yacht builder with a long heritage, is famed for its Italian elegance and style, and their unique style features throughout the 695 Rivale - which is available in limited edition convertible and hatchback versions - that can be recognised by its exclusive livery: two-tone paintwork in Riva Evening Blue and Shark Grey, with the delightful touch of two aquamarine stripes running around the waist rail, similar to the "beauty line" that appears on yachts.

The satin chrome finish on the door handles, the "695 Rivale" signature on the tailgate and rear wings, and the satin chrome moulding on the tailgate recalls the sophisticated forms of a yacht, all make this model even more unmistakable, thanks to the stylistic affinity with the side view of the new Riva yachts.

The underlying aim of the 695 Rivale is to surpass Abarth's traditional values by embracing the unique allure of Riva, to satisfy the demand for thrilling performances combined with luxury-class elegance and refinement. Its style is inspired by the brand new open Riva "56 Rivale", one of the most elegant, fastest yachts ever built. These features are strongly present in the 695 Rivale, which also borrows some typical Riva design features to underline its emphasis on elegance and personality.

Inside the 695 Rivale are carbon fibre sills, dark blue leather seats and door panels, black mats with blue inserts and dashboard in carbon fibre or mahogany, an optional variant that gives the car an even more nautical touch. The mahogany variant embraces the Riva philosophy even more profoundly: a well as the dashboard fascia, it includes a special blue and black leather steering wheel and blue leather instrument panel cladding.

Last but not least, the Abarth character is clearly visible in the Akrapović exhaust with carbon tips, Brembo brakes with black 4-piston fixed calipers at the front, 17" Supersport alloy wheels with special gloss grey finish, and Abarth by Koni suspension system with FSD (Frequency-Selective Damping).

An exclusive automotive expression of Italian lifestyle, the new Abarth 124 Spider is an adrenaline-fuelled, unconventional car that's destined to become an icon of driving satisfaction and is sure to excite everyone who gets behind the wheel.

Derived from the best roadster platform, the most successful in automotive history, the new Abarth 124 Spider has been further developed by Squadra Corse Abarth to guarantee the bold dynamics and driving joy of a true roadster. Its technical excellence is focused on handling quality with a standard mechanical self-locking differential. Typically found in top-of-the-range sports cars, this emphasises the personality of the new Abarth 124 Spider.

The weight is concentrated between the axles and the engine is installed behind the front axle to guarantee optimal agility and superior driving feel. Sophisticated mechanics and special materials have been used to contain the weight to just 1,129 kgs. This results in a weight-to-power ratio of 6.6 kg/hp, the best in its category. Furthermore, the optimal weight distribution guarantees genuine, exciting response.

A powerful, ultra-reliable 1.4 litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine with MultiAir technology throbs under the bonnet. Paired with a six-speed Esseesse Sports Sequential automatic transmission, it delivers 170 horsepower (about 124 hp per litre) and 250 Nm of torque, has a top speed of 229 km/h and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. What's more, since the engine sound is a fundamental element of all Abarth cars, standard equipment includes a Record Monza exhaust with Dual Mode system capable of modifying the path of the exhaust gas according to pressure, guaranteeing linear torque and power delivery and generating a satisfying, deep roar at the same time.

The Abarth 124 Spider colour range includes pastel "Turini 1975 White" and "Costa Brava 1972 Red" shades, together with metallic "San Marino 1972 Black", "Hessen 1972 Blue", and "Eastern Alps 1974 Grey" - all names chosen to pay tribute to the Brand's prestige successes in the rallying world.

Abarth Infotainment

Standard equipment includes a sophisticated audio set up featuring the latest UconnectTM infotainment system with satellite navigation and 7" touchscreen - easy to use and highly intuitive, it also allows drivers to safely and quickly access all the functions and contents of their smartphones using the touchscreen.

The 124 Spider is equipped with the Sound Plus Pack, which includes a sophisticated Bose audio system with subwoofer and eight speakers, two of which integrated in the head restraints for a perfect listening experience.

A powerful and sophisticated BeatsAudioTM system with seven speakers is also available on the 595 Competizione and 695 Rivale - developed in collaboration with Beats by Dr. Dre, the BeatsAudioTM system boasts an impressive total output of 440 watts and features a digital eight-channel amplifier integrating an advanced equalization algorithm capable of recreating the entire sound spectrum that an artist experiences during studio recording and is sure to win over even the most demanding music lover.
